Sweetwater, Texas – April 19th, 2016 – The United Professional Rodeo Association (UPRA) has reached an agreement with the city of Sweetwater, Texas to move the Stand United Series Finals Rodeo (SUSF)to the Nolan County Coliseum in 2016. The Stand United Series Finals (formally known as the Texas Cowboys Rodeo Association (TCRA) Finals) will be held in conjunction with the Nolan County Fair and Rodeo in October 2016 inside the historic Nolan County Coliseum.

“The Stand United Series Finals now has a home.” UPRA President Jerry Hill said. “We, along with the community leaders of Sweetwater, are honored that the UPRA is able to bring professional rodeo back inside the Nolan County Coliseum. We were not looking for a weekend to book an event. We have been searching for a place and organization that was ready to use this finals rodeo to make new traditions for their community. We want contestants to understand the UPRA strives for the betterment of rodeo, and we feel that Sweetwater fits that goal for our association”

Terry Locklar, General Manager and Marketing Director of the Nolan County Coliseum, was equally as excited. “We are honored that the UPRA chose Sweetwater as it’s home. It gives us great pride to bring professional Rodeo back to Nolan County. This event will help showcase the asset that the Nolan County Coliseum is and introduces its use for professional rodeo to a whole new generation.” Leah Andrews, the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce of Sweetwater and Nolan County added “The UPRA Stand United Series Finals adds a great piece to our Nolan County Fair, now in its third year. This Rodeo brings great entertainment to area residents, boosts the excitement of the County Fair, and will bring visitors from across the State of Texas to our area along with their tourism dollars and that means a boost to our local businesses and economy.”

The SUSF will be held in conjunction with the Nolan County Fair in October. The top cowboys and cowgirls of the Stand United Series will be invited to compete along with hand-picked livestock, at this three day rodeo event. Rodeo personnel will also be voted to work this event. At the end on the last round, awards will be handed out and new champions will be crowned.
